A scissor lift is a machine equipped with a platform that can be elevated, allowing maintenance personnel access to areas they would otherwise be unable to reach. Varieties and uses vary - some scissor lifts can extend to significant heights, while others are only capable of bridging small vertical distances. Depending on the terrain in which the scissor lift is used, the mobile base on which the platform is mounted will be equipped either with wheels or treads. Moving and operating scissor lifts requires battery power and, due to their capacity to be charged in recharged frequently, sealed AGM batteries are most often used to provide this power.
