How long will my battery last?

How long any battery lasts depends on many circumstances. A battery’s lifetime is largely dependent on how often – and how deeply – a battery is discharged. It is also important that the batteries properly charged and that the right charger is used for battery. With normal use – when a battery is charged and discharged infrequently – an operational lifespan of 5-8 years is perfectly realistic for gel and AGM batteries. When 2 V NiCd cells are used, lifespans of between 10 and 15 years can be achieved. When batteries are discharged frequently, however, this has a negative impact on their operational lifespan. It is also important to take the ambient temperature into account. For conventional purposes, 20°C is considered a normal ambient temperature. If the temperature of the environment rises above this value, battery lifespan will decrease.
