Marker Wadden completely independent from the mainland through wind and solar energy
The artificial island Marker Wadden in the Markermeer has been constructed for the preservation and recovery of nature. The construction of the nature island with sand, clay and silt from the Markermeer allows new nature to develop. Both under and above water.
The island is completely self-sufficient and independent of what happens on the mainland. The container, which contains 240 kWh of storage capacity through a battery pack from Intercel, has helped make this possible.
A beautiful energy storage project that we are proud of!
